Arrive at Home
About Arrive
The 'Arrive' Project is Ransack's training and professional development project for emerging choreographers, funded by Jerwood Foundation and Arts Council of Wales.
Each year we 'Arrived' at a different host theatre in Wales. Previous venues include the Memo Arts Centre, Theatr Brycheiniog, The Muni Arts Centre, The Riverfront and Sherman Cymru.
2025 saw Ransack Dance Company return home to YMa with our new ‘Arrive at Home’ project; Giving the project a permanent home at our new company base in Pontypridd, since becoming resident dance company in 2023.
The 'Arrive at Home' Project includes:
- Free and reduced price studio hire for the Arrive choreographers at YMa.
-Mentoring and 'creative conversations' with our Artistic Director, Sarah Rogers throughout the creative process
-Studio sharings with all Arrive artists to share work-in-progress and give/receive peer feedback.
-Ransack Dance Company also R&D new work in the studio, work with a company mentor and attend the peer feedback events.
-Open company classes during our R&D rehearsals for additional freelance dancers to take part in as free CPD training.
-Workshops for local school and community youth dance groups run alongside the professional development activity, to create curtain raisers for Arrive Dance Platform.
-The Arrive Dance Platform at YMa, culminates the project; presenting new early stage work from all of the Arrive emerging choreographers and companies including Ransack Dance Company. The audience feedback to the artists via feedback forms and a free post-show discussion event.
We plan to initiate a touring strand to 'Arrive' and revisit our model of partnering with different theatres across Wales alongside our 'Arrive at Home' project at YMa.
